Brief History

Wu Hua Elementary School was approved to be set up on June 7, 1989. Xie-Xi Lin was the director of preparatory office.

Ming-Hua Wang was appointed to be the first principal of Wu Hua Elementary School on August 15, 1989. Wu Hua started to recruit pupils in 1991.

The school building works were completed on August 29, 1991 in which the first semester started.

Principal Ming-Hua Wang was transferred to Er Chong Elementary School in August, 1995. Jin-Quan Li took over as the second principal.

Principal Jin-Quan Li was transferred to Sinpu Elementary School in August, 1999. Yue-Ying Qiu took over as the third principal.

Principal Yue-Ying Qiu was transferred to Liyuan Elementary School in August, 2006. Shu-Zhi Liu took over as the fourth principal.

Principal Shu-Zhi Liu was transferred to Chung-Yi Elementary School in August, 2014. Cheng-Hsiung Wu took over as the fifth principal.

Wu Hua Elementary School is blessed with an unique advantageous location, and a broad and beautiful campus. It is located on the side of Tamsui River. You can see Guanyinshan and Chihsingshan from here. Besides beautiful mountains and rivers , it is easily accessible.

For the first time in history, Wuhua is the first school that takes the treble in Reading Rock Award, which greatly proves that Wuha is a school dedicated in all aspect reading education.

Book Drive

There is a Book Drive on the school's anniversary and sports day every year. We collect around 200,000 books and purchase about 1,000 books every year.

Moving Reading Castle

We put on the “Moving reading castle” activity every May. Pupils are divided into groups and go to other classes to share their reflections on reading.

Unicycle Club

Cyclers should have a good sense of balance and not be afraid of falling off to show their extraordinary skills.

Shadow Play Club

Shadow play tells enthralling stories with flat, articulated figures, a translucent screen anda source of light.

Sunflower-Planting Campaign

Pupils can enjoy a range of interactive activities that will help them understand plant life cycles.

The Graduation Exhibitions

Through graduation exhibition processes, pupils have the opportunity to show what they have learned in elementary school. It will be one of the best elementary school memories for them.

Wu Hwa Ironman Triathlon

It is a primary curriculum for our pupils to learn how to ride a bike, swim and run the mini marathon.

Little Campus Guides

Pupils are trained to introduce the natural plants in our campus for our visitors. It aims to get children more acquainted with the natural environment.

Performaning Arts

In the class of performing arts, artists teach pupils how to develop their body and voice expression, which make them more confident to express themselves.

Kapok Storytellers

The mother volunteers has form a team called Kapok Storytellers, which regularly performs dramas based on different stories for pupils to enjoy and learn from.

Library Guide Activities

Along with “World Books Day”, this activity encourages pupils to bring their families to school libraries, sharing the library collections and facilities together in the book world.

WhesLovesReading

Teachers encourage pupils to innovate and illustrate their own stories. The school will host a debut for the pupils to explain their idea on how the illustration books were created.

Little Broadcaster

Comic books Library contains thousands of picture books for children to release their imaginations.
In this area, children can spend a whole day with books in a more relaxing way.

WuHua Got Talent

At the end of each semester, students of different clubs will show what they learn to the whole school in this special semester presentation.

Aquaponics Club

A club aims to familiarizes students with how ecosystem works by mimicking a small part of nature metabolic cycle.

Wuhua Basketball Cup

Since Wuhua is a sportive school, in each year, Wuhua hosts a basketball competition that invites all the competitive teams across Taipei Metro area and Yilan.

We made an effort to obtain resources to set up Comic books library, Multilingual library and Toy library, etc.

Pupils can participate in one-day internship activity in the National Educational Radio

Dream Flying House

In Dream Flying House, pupils canchoose, adapt and perform different plays.

Toy Library

Toy Doctor resides in toy library to repair traditional toys. So, let children get rid of digital games and retrieve the original joy of game back.

Story House

Our mother volunteers are excellent in all kinds of skills of story-telling. Together with other assistances, our purpose is aiming to build a reading-friendly environment for students.

Features

Located in the district rich in natural and cultural landscapes, Wu Hua Elementary school is a large school of 71 classes, with a kindergarten of 4-classes affiliated. The 3.8-hectare campus houses approximately 160 co-workers and 2000 students with a colorful environment.

Wu Hua is a school of ambition and great educational philosophy, and always wants to give the best to the society. Surrounded by residential areas, our school not only provides our students the best learning environment, but also provides the neighboring community an artful resort to visit and relax.

30th Anniversary

In December 5, 2020, Wuhua welcomed its 30^th anniversary sports day of school. In this day, many of Wuhua’s graduate students and its former headmaster had returned and spent a lovely day in our pleasant campus.
